Domestic Violence Intervention Programs

Domestic Violence Intervention Programs, sometimes referred to as DVIPs, are designed for people who have caused harm in their relationships.

Individuals might be required to participate by a court, legal order, attorney, probation or parole officer, employer, or another authority. While participation may be mandated, a Domestic Abuse Intervention Program offers an opportunity to make meaningful changes and prevent future harm. The program helps participants take responsibility, learn respectful ways to interact with partners and family, and build healthier patterns of behavior.

To be listed as an approved Domestic Abuse Intervention Program provider, each program must go through a peer review process based on statewide program standards.
