The team at Heartland Family Service Sanctuary House is hosting the Second Annual Unseen Workers Symposium on November 16, 2026, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
The Unseen Workers Symposium is focused on labor trafficking and exploitation and what it looks like in our community. This all-day learning opportunity brings together service providers and community partners to learn how to identify, screen, and offer services to survivors.
As part of this training, attendees will be able to:
- Choose between beginner and more advanced tracks to suit their level of experience
- Attend sessions that delve into labor trafficking and exploitation, immigration, and case studies
- Connect with organizations and service providers that support survivors
- Explore how labor trafficking exists in our Nebraskan communities
This event has two learning tracks for labor trafficking and immigration sessions throughout the day:
- Track 101: Ideal for people new to the topics like labor trafficking, labor exploitation, and immigration.
- Track 201: Ideal for people with a baseline understanding of labor trafficking, labor exploitation, and immigration, or people who have attended previous labor trafficking trainings hosted by Sanctuary House
Sessions for both tracks will cover trafficking/exploitation, immigration, and some case studies. At the end of the day, a panel with guest speakers will discuss the multidisciplinary approach to combating or responding to labor trafficking/exploitation.
Spots are limited, so register early! Registration is free and includes meals.
