Cast Your Vote
The general election will be held on November 5, 2024. Below you'll find resources and information to ensure your vote is counted on Election Day.
Voting is a fundamental right, but for those experiencing stalking or abuse, the process can present unique risks and challenges. The Nebraska Address Confidentiality Program (ACP) provides services to Nebraska residents who are survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, stalking, and trafficking.
Step 1: Prepare
- Review all relevant Nebraska general voter information.
- Confirming you are eligible to vote:
- Be a U.S. Citizen
- Be at least 18 years of age by Election Day
- Live in the state of Nebraska and a resident of the county you are voting
- Have not been convicted of a felony, or if convicted, at least two years passed since the completion of your sentence for the felony including any parole term
- Have not been found by a court to be mentally incompetent
- Ensure you have a valid voter ID.
- Visit the Nebraska Voter Information Lookup to find your polling place and a list of elected offices.
- Educate yourself on this year's candidates and ballot measures, including how the ballot measures can impact survivors.
STEP 2: Register
- Check the accuracy of your current voter registration or register to vote online, by mail, or in-person.
- Register Online or By Mail: Your registration must be received by your Election Official's Office by Friday, October 18, 2024.
- Register In-Person: You must do so at your Election Official's Office by Friday, October 25, 2024 by 6:00 p.m.
(optional) STEP 3: Request Absentee Ballot
- Nebraskans do not need an excuse to vote by Early Voting Ballot. To receive an Early Voting Ballot, you must submit an Early Voting Form by email, by mail, or in-person to your Election Official's Office by Friday, October 25, 2024 by 6:00 p.m.
STEP 4: Cast Your Vote
- Early Voting Ballot: Cast your vote by mail or hand-delivering your completed and signed Early Voting Ballot to your Election Official's Office by Election Day, Tuesday, November 5, 2024 by 8:00 p.m.
- In-Person Voting:
- Cast your vote early in-person at your local Election Official's Office. Early in-person voting lasts from Monday, October 7, 2024 to Monday, November 4, 2024.
- Cast your vote in-person at your correct polling place which will be open on Election Day, Tuesday, November 5, 2024, from 8:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m. Be sure to bring your voter ID.
