Safety for Advocates in the Community

Who Should Attend?
Staff who provide advocacy services to survivors outside of the office setting (scattered site shelter/ apartments, hospitals, community facilities, home visits, etc.)

Workshop Description:
When providing services away from the office, advocates can face threats to their safety. This training will provide strategies for enhancing personal safety for advocates in a variety of settings in the community including scattered-site shelter/ housing locations and survivor residences. Participants will learn techniques for traveling to and conducting services in the field and managing potentially dangerous situations.

Cost:
This workshop is FREE to staff and volunteers from sexual and domestic violence programs that are members of the Nebraska Network.
