Building a Resilient Organizational Culture
NOTE: This event is open to network program advocates only.
In this workshop, we will discuss the patterns presented in Maurice Mitchell’s article, Building Resilient Movement Organizations (https://forgeorganizing.org/article/building-resilient-organizations). Participants will grapple with the complex reality that comes with navigating harm in a movement that intends to prevent and mitigate harm. With this article as a guide, we will discuss many of the common problems faced by movement organizations, their causes, and strategies for overcoming them.
Participants will:
● Identify common patterns and trends that show up in movement organizations
● Increase their understanding of these patterns by drawing on their own experiences
● Develop strategies to navigate the patterns and trends discussed and build more resilient organizations
