PREA Advocacy in County Jails - Peer Sharing
Working with sexual assault survivors who are incarcerated can be both rewarding and challenging. While the core principles of advocacy services remain the same in any setting, many advocates have limited experience providing services inside prisons and jails. Detention facilities environments are distinctive—this offering will provide the opportunity to discuss this unique culture and ways to overcome the obstacles that may prevent safe, effective advocacy.
Please join Kim (Coalition) and Sidnee (Center for Survivors) for a Virtual Peer Share. We will share experiences of working in county jails with incarcerated survivors. If you are currently offering advocacy within your local jail, or if you would like to know more about jail advocacy, please join us.
Sidnee Pavel
