Network Programs ONLY: Sex Work and Sex Trafficking Discussion Series
This event is for members of our Network Programs Only (Local DV/SA and Tribal Programs)
Sex Work and Sex Trafficking Discussion Series:
Over the past few years, more discussion has been paid to the needs of survivors of sex trafficking. But is all commercial sex work trafficking? Given that many survivors of sex trafficking do not self-identify, how do we know when someone’s participation in commercial sex work is involuntary? Who gets to decide what constitutes voluntary participation?
This series consists of four discussion sessions, each exploring a specific theme:
Friday, April 24 from 10:00 am – 11:15 am: What is Commercial Sex Work?
Tuesday, April 28 from 9:00 am – 10:15 am: What is Choice?
Tuesday, May 5 from 9:00 am – 10:15 am: What is Safety?
Tuesday, May 12 from 9:00 am – 10:15 am: How Does This Apply to our Work?
Each discussion session build upon the previous one. To get the most out of this conversation, we recommend you participate in all four sessions. You are strongly encouraged to review the reading materials and consider the reflection questions before each discussion session.
