When we provide services to survivors of sexual assault, domestic violence, stalking, trafficking and child abuse, we typically focus on the most recent abuse experienced by our clients. We work with individuals who are in crisis and need to focus on the present in order to establish safety. However, trauma-informed approaches ask us to also consider the historical, intergenerational and gender issues of our clients.

This webinar will ask you to broaden your definition of trauma and consider the trauma of our ancestors and how that might one’s impact the ability to participate in services, provide healthy parenting, build trusting relationships or even maintain safety.
