Green Dot Program
The Green Dot Program mobilizes people across settings and contexts to create safe, healthy, and respectful spaces. By equipping individuals with the knowledge, skills, and motivation necessary to do their part, cultures can shift and all forms of harassment and interpersonal violence can be reduced. The community-based programs incorporate a bystander workshop, an overview talk, and community action events.
The goal of the bystander workshop is to provide participants with the skills they need to help ensure every person in their community is safe from sexual assault and domestic violence. The training uses a bystander framework to equip participants with the knowledge, skills, and tools they need to do their part.
Booster activities provide opportunities to strengthen bystander intervention skills learned in the workshop. Examples of activities include (1) social marketing materials such as posters and banners, and short activities that can be integrated across different contexts in the community. Community Mobilizing Initiatives are broader events used to bring the community together and create momentum toward change.
